I've read several articles and reviews that suggest the S&W 500 is a good gun for hunting. Yeah--if you're hunting in Jurassic Park. Otherwise, get a rifle. But for shear excitement it's

Own one since earlier this year and it love it dearly.
The DA trigger is smooth and slick. Machining and workmanship is exceptional. The cylinder gap is paper thin and a testament to quality of

Since I now own this hand cannon I feel obligated to tell people how incredibly impressive this gun looks, feels, shoots, and sounds. If you are trying to decide between this and another pistol, get this

My brother purchased a .500 mag S&W, when it was first introduced. I have used it a couple times since. All I have to say about it is as follows. Suprisingly light for the size pistol it is, the trigger

Midwayusa.com has your moon clips. And the moon clip extractor tool if you need it.
Pick up some Warne mounts and rings and the scope of your choice and you'll be good to go!

Yeah, the caliber options with the 460 are definitely a plus, but the sheer power of the 500 is what got me. It's sort of like comparing a Dodge Viper to a Corvette. Bottom line is, I want BOTH!!

Just purchased the 460 with an 8 3/8" barrrell. I chose the 460 over the 500 because of the fact you can shoot .460, .454, .45LC and .45ACP's with moon clips. Plus it has a much faster bullet

I finally got one. I bought the 4" model, looks just like the one in the first photo here. It feels freakishly large in the hand, it's much thicker/wider and heavier than I had imagined. The

I've owned a Perf Center 500 for 2 years now, very happy with it. Shoots 1.5" grps at 100yd. I found a supplier for reduced recoil rounds and am shooting 350 Hornady XTP rounds, supplier is BallisticSupply.net,

Was looking at the reviews of the taurus 500. I'm going to keep politics out of this review.
I LOVE THIS HAND CANNON!!! My buddy has one. I've put about 50 rounds through it. Don't

I have the 4" variant of this revolver (see photo 8). I modified the uncompensated barrel "cap" from the 460 to fit the 500 and even in this uncompensated format shooting 400 Gr Magtech

I have owned this 500 in the 8+ inch model for almost a year. I have had one problem on a few occasions worth mentioning. Sometimes, after firing a round, the cylender turns too far completely jumping

I do not own this revolver and have never fired one but I give it a 5 based totally on the cool factor. I was firing a CZ50 .32 (dont laugh) a few weeks ago at an indoor range next to three guys taking

Hi Ive shot the 500 mag. in the 8 3/8 barrel a few times in an indoor range and was amazed at the recoil, it wasnt as much as I thought it would be. I am saving my money to purchase one as soon as I can. I must admit thought it is reallyyyyy loud.

To answer the question on numner of rounds can be fired before it hurts. Smith & Wesson has done a great job on designing the muzzle brake for the 500. I have been shooting heavy .44 Mag loads for over

Not as bad on recoil as my Freedom Arms .454. However with the 500gr bullet from Hornady, it starts to become a handful. I have the Custom Shop 500 with the 10 inch barrel, so the muzzle velocity is more than the standard 8-3/8 barrel. It is just a toy for me because I love BIG BORE handguns.

At $1200, thats some expensive fun! My motto is to each his own, live and let live...so, I can understand the novelty of it. But, honestly I would be happier with a Kimber .45 1911 style for that price. How much does it cost to shoot , per shot? 500 mag ammo has got to be high priced...

Kinda fun to shoot because it is soo loud and eveyrone will feel a wave of energy around you. You need to hold this gun well and make sure your arms are extended completely. If you dont, it will come
