The straight 45 Colt barrel has more rifling for more spin on the bullet; thus more accurate. In the 45/410, the 45 Colt bullet has some space before reaching the rifling; however I've had no problems
|

I notice Bond Arms offers a Colt 45/410 barrel and one that is just the Colt 45. When shooting a Colt 45 does the Colt 45 barrel have some type of advantage over the Colt 45/410 barrel?

Thanks, DryGulch. I went into a local gun shop yesterday to try to fine the PDX, and they had no idea of what I was even talking about. Guess I'll have to check the next gun show in the area.

FINALLY....Bond Arms has Jumbo Grips....check it out:

Wish they had been a rubber tactical type grip, but the wooden one will be a lot better than the standard grip for the SS-IV.

Hey, Drygulch...you should buy yourself a scroll saw and start making those grips...I called Charlie at Bond several times, but it doesn't look like they are going to get any tactical grips made...He

I posted a photo with a set of Charter Arms rubber grips I cut down to fit my Cowboy Defender. If I'd had a scroll saw, I could have made them look better; but they work great! I've gone

I have a Snake Slayer IV, and have used #6 shot and had the same results as you did. Not only was the pattern useless, but the shells were very messy. So, I chose to shoot
only 000Buckshot

I have the Cowboy Defender but exchanged the 3" barrel for a 3 1/2" barrel so I could use the 3 inch .410 rounds instead of the 2 1/2 inch. I also have 9mm & 45 ACP barrels. This is

I have this in a snake slayer IV its a lot of fun to shoot .I have the 22, 10mm, 9mm, barrels so far.It is a very quality built little gun with a big punch . Well the 4.25 berrel is not too little,410 shot gun @ 45 long colt.

I just purchased the Snake Slayer IV, 45/410, with the larger
grips. Seems to me that even the larger grips are small. Anyone found larger grips for it? Also, I'm interested in purchasing a .22

Yes the recoil is hard. I wrapped rubber tape around my grips to cushin it.
