If you are not talking about firearms or weapons, do it here.

Listen to who? You're not blowing your own horn again are you? We've had plenty of that already. Time to open a window and let in some fresh air.

I agree, while my colt is the closest I have to a duel purpose rifle having both irons and a magnified optic it's longer than one would want for cqb. The build is a dedicated med. range precision rifle. For practical purposes I use it against varmints and paper at longer ranges, which is why I chose a higher magnification level.

My oly (your typical M-4gery style AR) is better suited to cqb as it only has an aimpoint and forward grip coupled to it. I suppose I could pick up a magnifier for it if I wanted to go for duel purpose.

Where's that Steyr on sale at?

hey black!

If we assume that each time 235U is split it produces 2.5 more neutrons, and there is one millisecond between each reaction, how many milliseconds would it take for there to be at least 500,000 free neutrons?

LOL! I don't have my scientific calculator so I'll provide you an example of how nuclear fission is explained. The first neutron is a first generation neutron. This can release between 2-3 more neutrons, depending on the way in which the uranium nucleus splits. We will assume that about 2.5 neutrons are released during each fissioning. Those 2.5 neutrons are second generation neutrons. Then, those 2.5 second generation neutrons prompt the fissioning of more uranium, producing approximately 2.5 third generation neutrons, for each second generation neutron. So, the total number of neutrons in the third generation is now: 2.5 x 2.5, or 6.25 neutrons. In a nuclear reactor, there is approximately 1 millisecond between each generation. So, what does this mean? It means that every millisecond, the number of neutrons increases 2.5 times. So, if at time 0, there are 5 neutrons present, 10 milliseconds later, there are 5x 2.5 10th =47,683.7158, or about 47,700 neutrons.

I think the term is exponential progression.

That's the basic description, but had I left something so elementary, I would've had to explain it. So I thought I'd just provide an example and be done with it.

Maybe we should move this post. I'm very specific about my personal requirements. There is so much you can do with the AR platform that it defies imagination.

This is not my experience. I've ordered ammunition from Cabels's and had it delivered within a reasonable time frame. Their site advised me of the .45 ACP shortages, but shipped within two weeks of order. Their prices and required quantities are on the north side of average, but they shipped. I've used AbleAmmo.com and LuckyGunner.com as well. Beats going to the store to find only Rusky or Comm Chinese products which I refuse to purchase. Buy American!

I've had good experiences with Cabella in the past. Though once they did offer to substitute some Serbian .380 for the PMC I had on backorder. They did neclect to mention that the Serbian projectiles were way cheaper than the PMC. I told them I'd wait till the stuff I ordered came in which amounted to one day. Hmmm. Other than that though no issues.
