Hard to go wrong with a 700. I love mine. I have one in 7mm Remington magnum, and it's all the gun I will probably ever need. I have absolutely no bad things to say about it, and I always recommend model 700's to my friends who are looking to get a new rifle.

If you haven't viewed the article/video describing the Model 700's safety problelms, you owe it to yourself and those around you. Afterall, safety is what this is all about!

I have, in fact, read some of the reports and concerns about the Remington 700 safety record. Fortunately, I have had no problems, which seems like it would have happened by now if it was going to. I also have a Remington 541S and a 700 in .243 VLS. All 3 of my Remingtons are great shooters. I appreciate the warning though. It's good to have information.

tbates: Like you I have never had a problem with my 700 in .308. I have also shot it over 1000 times with no problems or concern. I love my 700 and wouldn't shot .308 with any other rifle.

I'm glad you haven't experienced any problems with your model 700's. Just remember to keep your muzzles pointed in a safe direction and don't load them in the house... You never know! It's worth having a qualified gunsmith inspect the action to make sure you don't have any surprises. Just sayin...it's really hard to make a bullet come back. If you're interested in witnessing this behavior, there are plenty of You Tube videos addressing the problem.

Looks like a beautiful rifle! I just wish we could figure out why some photos stretch out like that. I've had that problem too and haven't had any explanation from the admin as to why. Regardless, it's obviously a nice rifle with a very nice scope on it. It's one of those ATT rifles, you can dial it in, then reach out and touch someone!!!

Tigwelder56: I love it, I have use it out to 800yds on a human size Target. The only thing I can say it, "Thanks to Remington you don't have to spend a lot to get a lot."

Thank you for the nice words.
