Black Hills 125 gr JHPs! 625 ft/lbs of energy at the muzzle. Buffalo Bore makes some hunting rounds that are even hotter but for HD, the Black Hills will do. You cannot shoot a better self defense round ( in any caliber) than the Black Hills 125gr JHP. The GP-100 shoots'em like a champ, all day long.

Any good self defense load in .357 magnum will serve you well, from the old school 158gr wadcutters to the Glazer Silver Dot 110gr frangable rounds.

As far as range shooting, I shoot the cheapest target loads I can find at Wally World. I also like to shoot 38 special loads, especially with a new shooter. The .357 will get your GP-100 so hot you could iron your clothes with it. 38 specials don't heat up the gun so bad. 38sp +P? I don't mess with them. I like the Hogue mono grips. It makes shooting hot loads easy on the hands. I shoot both hands, strong hand and weak hand with no problems.

I shot some 10mm loads that were 700 lbs but the gun was unreliable. I didnt always shoot the hot stuff out it due to cost and beating on the pistol. I always took 5 or 6 hot ones though for the pop! I thought fiocchi had one doing 1400 fps and 700 lbs in .357

What is the best way/product to keep the Stainless looking good? Is their anyway to keep the wheel and frame free of the blackening they get after firing some?

Searching shows Flitz for the Stainless upkeep. I'm looking at getting the Hi Viz fiber optic sights and adding a Crimson Trace laser grip later as long as it is still comfortable.

Traded a malfunctioning 10mm in on a new GP100 Stainless 4" barrel. Had it out of the box for about 10 minutes and swapped on a HiViz front sight and Crimson Trace grip. Doesn't get any better for a nightstand gun! My Fiance and I shot about 100 Magnums and 50 .38 Special our first time out... flawless! I really like many of the features (and price) over the S&W versions. Found out quick get a lead removal cloth to keep it looking good and for cleaning around the forcing cone. Extremely pleased!

You got a fine revolver in the GP-100 Intercooler. I use pipe cleaners to clean around the top of the forcing cone. I wish I had the CT grip but they won't fit with my Hogue grips.

I took some red paint to my front sight to make it easier to see.

I just got a GP 100 about 2 weeks ago and have had it to the range twice. I am in love with it. I was able to keep my groups small and the recoil using full power 357 Federal with 125 FMJ's was pleasant. I will give this gun a good tryout over the next few weeks, but I just have a good feeling about it.

usmc66 .I love my gp100 as well its a toss up with my s/w body guard 38.I only wish I got gp in 357 not 38 (I think they only made 38 spec in 06 with gp 100) maybe down road a 357 in the future ? I dont have 1 bad thing to say about it .

Well I am just plain jealous. All you guys have a GP 100 and I'm still looking for a 4 inch SS at a price I can afford here locally. (Oklahoma) Friends wife has one and my wife and I fell in love the first time I shot it. Never had a wheel gun; I prefer my Sig P220 .45, but if I stumble on one I'll grab on to it for CC.

NRA Pistol instructor made a strong case for it. He asked our class if we'd ever had a FTF or misfire with a pistol? Hands went up. He asked what we'd do and of course we all said we'd stop firing, fix it etc. He said in a HD situation if we had a misfire in a revolver what would we do? Then someone said "Just pull the trigger again." So we all get the point.

I love my automatics. I especially love my Glocks and Kimber for reliability, accuracy and just plumb fun to shoot, But a wheelgunis is the ultimate in reliability in my opinion. The GP100 just feels good too.
